About Ontario

Ontario offers numerous attractions for tourists. Niagara Falls, located on the border with the United States, is one of the most famous natural wonders in the world. The province also has beautiful national and provincial parks, such as Algonquin Provincial Park and Bruce Peninsula National Park, which offer opportunities for outdoor activities like camping, hiking, and wildlife viewing. Additionally, cities like Toronto, Ottawa (the national capital), and Niagara-on-the-Lake attract visitors with their vibrant cultural scenes, museums, galleries, and historical sites.

Ontario has a population of over 14 million people, making it the most populous province in Canada. The population is diverse, with a mix of various ethnicities and cultures. Toronto, the provincial capital, is the most populous city in Canada and a global hub for finance, business, culture, and arts. As a heavily populated province, Ontario has an extensive transportation network. Toronto Pearson International Airport is the busiest airport in Canada and serves as a major international hub. The province has an extensive highway system, including the 401 Highway, one of the busiest highways in North America. Public transportation options include Toronto's subway system, buses, and commuter trains.

Fun fact: Ontario has the most lakes of our provinces - 250,000. These fresh water lakes contain 1/5th of the world's fresh water and is where you'll find many canuk cottagers enjoying poutine along with a double double.

The Province of Ontario has a strong and diverse economy. It is known for its manufacturing industry, particularly in the automotive sector, where major car manufacturers have plants in the province. Other significant industries include technology, finance, aerospace, telecommunications, film and television production, and agriculture.

The cost of living in Ontario can vary depending on the specific city or region within the province. Generally speaking, Ontario is known to have a relatively higher cost of living compared to many other provinces in Canada. Additionally, personal lifestyle choices and preferences will also impact an individual's overall cost of living.

Immigration to Ontario:

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is a provincial nomination program that allows the province of Ontario to select and nominate individuals for permanent residency in Canada. It is designed to meet the specific economic and labor market needs of Ontario. It allows Ontario to nominate individuals for permanent residency in Canada.
